homemade mocktail recipe
it was my brothers birthday a few days ago and I decided to make something a little different for him. Normally I would have made a cake as I enjoy baking but we had already got a cake so I decided to do something different.
After a bit of research, I decided on making mocktails. Today I will share two great recipes that we all enjoyed. The first one is lemonade and the second a negroni mocktail. Feel free to add more sugar until you get the right amount.
sour lemon and lime lemonade
This is a delicious recipe for a refreshing lemon and lime homemade lemonade but be warned that it is a very sour [depending on how much you dilute it] and slightly bitter taste. The amount of lemons and limes can be adjusted if you want.
ingredients
- 11 limes
- 3 lemons
- 500g caster sugar
- sparkling water or other liquid to dilute
- Chop the limes and lemons skin on and put them in a food processor or blender
- Add 200ml of water to the food processor or blender and 500g caster sugar
- while it is in the food processor freeze any fruit slices you want to put on the glasses. This could be lemon/lime/orange or any other fruit
- pour the mixture from the food processor or blender into a sieve and remove all of the liquid
- This is your lemonade concentrate then dilute with any liquid of your choice sparkling water/water/fizzy drinks/rum/vodka or any other liquid you would like.
refreshing negroni mocktail
ingredients
- 3/4 of a grapefruit [approx. 250g]
- 1/2 an orange
- 200g caster sugar
- 4 cardamom pods
- pinch coriander seeds
- Chop the grapefruit into pieces and slice the orange save some orange slices to put on the glasses if you want
- put them into a saucepan along with the cardamom pods 250ml of water and 200g caster sugar
- crush the fruit pieces with the back of a spoon until the mixture has turned into syrup at this stage add the coriander seeds and red food coloring if you want
- Use a slotted spoon to remove any fruit pieces
- use a teaspoon to add the syrup to the drink and let it infuse then you can let it cool a bit and add some cooled syrup as well to create the effect shown in the pictures and enhance the taste.
- mix with liquid of your choice preferably fizzy apple water or partially fissy apple water
They were tasty mocktails. Well done on getting your blogg done
